Job no: 501798 Work type: Fixed Term Location: Newstead Categories: Marketing & Communications About the role Mater is currently looking for a Coordinator– Communications and Engagement to join our Corporate Affairs and Growth (CAG) team, based at Mater Newstead.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, fast-paced and creative team of communications and media professionals dedicated to promoting the work of one Queensland's largest healthcare, education and research providers.
This is a part-time position working 11.5 hours a week and will be a contract covering maternity leave for 12-months.
Salary range: $36.51 - $40.81 (MCA 3) per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits
What does the role entail? The successful applicant will assist with the development and implementation of communications activities for Mater Health, Mater Education, Mater Research and Mater Foundation, in line with the strategic business and marketing objectives of the organisation.
Duties: Support internal and external communication strategies to enhance Mater's brand and reputationProvide strategic and tactical communication advice and support key projectsManage responses to Mater-related communications and media mattersBuild strong relationships with the wider team and Mater Health locationsSupport the integration of health, education, research, and philanthropy at MaterAssist Communications and Engagement Manager in achieving strategic objectivesManage website and social media platforms according to Mater's online strategyFocus on supporting Mater Mothers teamBased in Brisbane with regular travel to regional hospitals in Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, and BundabergAbout you Applicants will have a tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing or Public Relations (or relevant experience in communications) and/or experience in strategic discipline.
You will also have:
Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior role in complex group environmentsDesired experience in social mediaStrong background in social media managementKnowledge of contemporary communication principles and trendsEffective strategies for local NPS and community perceptionExperience in a fast-paced service delivery environmentFamiliarity with health, education, research, and philanthropy sectors desirableHighly developed writing, communication, organization, and planning skillsExcellent interpersonal skills for collaboration and negotiationStrong understanding of brand development and managementQuick learner of new technology, processes, markets, and industriesAbility to work effectively in a teamFoster a positive work culture within the teamSkilled in planning and coordinating multiple projects within budget and time constraintsAbility to work calmly under pressure and tight deadlinesWillingness to work after hours and be on call if neededExceptional accuracy and attention to detailFlexibility and adaptability to changing environmentsSelf-motivated with proven problem-solving abilityPassion and genuine interest in marketing and communications across diverse businessesPassion for staying up to date with marketing opportunities and trendsAbility to work at a high level in a multi-disciplinary environmentWhy join us?
