We are seeking a Senior Speech Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary Allied Health team at Calvary Health Care Bethlehem.

Excellent salary packaging options available About Calvary Health Care Bethlehem – Caulfield, Victoria Calvary Health Care Bethlehem (CHCB) is a 32 bed public hospital / health care facility providing a range of inpatient, community and ambulatory services for progressive neurological conditions and palliative care.
The Statewide Progressive Neurological Disease (PND) service at Calvary Health Care Bethlehem offers a range of multidisciplinary assessment and management services for people with a diagnosed PND and is recognised as leader in this area.
We are located centrally in metropolitan Melbourne at our new state of the art hospital and health care precinct in Caulfield.
Vaccination against COVID-19 is a mandatory requirement for healthcare workers in Victoria, and as such, all employees at Calvary Health Care must provide evidence of Vaccination.
All employees must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment when required, which at a minimum is a surgical mask.
Additional PPE requirements are role-dependant.
Our service streams include: Inpatient service: 32 bed ward with a mix of progressive neurology and palliative care beds Hospital based Outpatients - State-wide Progressive Neurological Disease Service: Specialist interdisciplinary assessment and management service for people with a diagnosed progressive neurological disease such as Motor Neurone Disease, Huntington's Disease, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinsonian Syndromes NDIS provider Service: providing a range of allied health therapies and Specialist Behaviour Support, delivered across metropolitan Melbourne to adult participants under 65 years old with progressive neurological conditions About the role You will work predominantly in the State-wide Progressive Neurological Disease Service (SPNDS) providing clinic based Speech Pathology support to people with progressive neurological diseases, including Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and Huntington's disease (HD).
You will also provide clinical supervision and support to Grade 2 Speech Pathologists working in SPNDS and on the ward.
You will work closely with the Allied Health Staff, Bethlehem clinical staff and other external key stakeholders to provide a collaborative service to patients and their families.
The role includes comprehensive Speech Pathology support in line with patient goals to optimise quality of life and function.
This will include working with the wider team to manage dysphagia, secretions and communication.

Eligible for Membership with Speech Pathology Australia or current membership Current Victorian driving licence Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve Experience in progressive neurological disease management (including MND and Huntington's Disease) An ability to work autonomously and within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, including proven interpersonal and communication skills Dysphagia management experience is essential VFSS and FEES competency desirable Experience with AAC and multi-modal communication is essential Current clinical knowledge and critical thinking ability in the field of progressive neurology and/ or palliative care is desirable Leadership and advocacy experience including supervision of less experienced staff is desirable Benefits This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of a leading mission based health care organisation.
