About the Role The Children and Family Services (CAFS) Manager is responsible for providing operational management, program integration, implementation of evidence-based programs, and sector reform across a suite of programs across Victoria.
The role ensures high quality, innovative practice in line with the organisation's strategic initiatives and drives the delivery of targeted services, to improve outcomes for vulnerable children, youth, families and individuals across the Western and Northern metropolitan areas of Melbourne.
The CAFS Manager oversees the teams across the family violence (therapeutic recovery and PUV response interventions) and family services (Integrated Family Services and Family Preservation and Reunification Response) programs, providing high quality service delivery and performance whilst working closely with the wider organisation to deliver on the Mission, Vision and Values of Baptcare.
The role is a senior leadership role within the Community Services Victoria team and will participate in strategic planning, knowledge management and reform implementation within the portfolio.
The CAFS Manager is responsible for positively contributing to the overall effectiveness of the team.
This role will have an additional impact through participation in stakeholder relationships, alliances, sector platforms and partnerships, promoting a business to government operations in service delivery.
The role reports directly to the Operations Manager – Community Services Victoria, and indirectly to the General Manager – Community Services

You will ideally bring the following:
Tertiary Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or other relevant Human Services qualification and/or experienceExperience in people management and leadership, with a minimum of 3 years managing a large team within the sectorKey Selection Criteria A sophisticated understanding of the complexity of Child protection, out of home care, family violence and the family support services system and the issues involved in providing services to statutory clientsDemonstrated ability to foster learning, inquiry and innovationDemonstrated evidence-informed understanding of child development and the impact of trauma and violence on adults, children and young peopleProficient people manager, including ability to supervise, coach and develop staff · Strong strategic leadership and employee management skills to lead, mentor and develop programs and teams to deliver on strategic objectivesStrong commercial acumen and business development skillsDemonstrated understanding of evidence informed/based programs and service implementationAbility to adjust to constantly changing situations while maintaining focus on delivery and follow-throughStrategic, politically astute, with a good understanding of key external organisations, how they operate and make decisionsKnowledge of, and experience in working within a funding environmentHigh level of self-awareness and resilience and the ability to manage multiple demands and prioritise accordinglyStrong computer skills and use of full suite of Microsoft officeStrong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; able to understand complex issues and translate them into simple, workable actions and plansAbility to think strategically, work creatively, effectively and in an innovative mannerAbility to adapt to changing environments while maintaining and promoting client-centred practicesHighly developed skills in the ability to diagnose needs, trends and opportunities and subsequently design and implement changes that strengthen program and client outcomesCommitment to quality service provision and ongoing continuous quality improvement activitiesDemonstrated initiative and accountability to take a self-starting approach to leadership, management, and maintaining responsibility for own actionsStakeholder management and the ability to coach on the building of strong, credible relationships with local movements and networks, government associations, business leaders and other relevant stakeholders internally and externallyExcellent communication skills, in written and verbal English, highly impactful influencing, negotiation, persuasion and problem-solving skillsStrong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; able to understand complex issues and translate them into simple, workable actions and plansAbility to think strategically, work creatively, effectively and in an innovative mannerHighly developed skills in the ability to diagnose needs, trends and opportunities and subsequently design and implement changes that strengthen program and client outcomesDemonstrated initiative and accountability to take a self-starting approach to leadership and management, maintaining responsibility for own actionsStakeholder management and the ability to coach on the building of strong, credible relationships with local movements and networks, government associations, business leaders and other relevant stakeholders internally and externallyExcellent communication skills, in written and verbal English, highly impactful influencing, negotiation, persuasion and problem-solving skillsAlignment and commitment to Baptcare's Mission, Vision, and ValuesFor You Baptcare is focused on living our values, not just talking about them.
