In difficult retail trade, the pressure on the Merchandise Planner role intensifies. Re-works & replans become the norm, hours extend and stress levels go through the roof.In these times, we know Planners are looking for a culture and leadership team that supports them, shields them from some of those pressures and works side by side to find solutions.These Planning Managers are rare, the ones that don't add to the pressure unnecessarily. So, when an opportunity to work within one of these teams comes up it is definitely something to think about. The turnover is low & this role has arisen due to an internal move across the business.If you are looking to move to a business that is trading well in challenging times and has a strategic & supportive leader, this may be for you. In speaking with many Planners every week, we get a gauge of the most important aspects to you & we know this is high on your list.We are looking for a forward-thinking Planner to join this business where creativity meets strategy. This is a traditional Merchandise Planning role, where you will work alongside the Buyer and Design team across one portfolio - not a merger of three. You won't be expected to be working after hours & over the weekend in this company.This is an organisation that nurtures talent and empowers team members to grow and develop their planning & leadership skills. Working closely with the product team allows you to identify emerging markets & new initiatives that will set you apart from the competition.The Merchandise Planner role includes;Building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders within and across the organisationBuild financial budgets that support the business strategyDevelop post seasonal and strategic plans on a half yearly basisEffectively manage markdowns to minimise clearance and maximise stock turn/GMROIAnalyse and manage margin mix through stock turn, GMROI, assortment mix, markdown program and marketing programReview category performance weekly with BuyerAssortment Planning across rangesDetermine replenishment parameters to manage optimised inventory in core productsMonthly review of department performance with senior leadership teamEnsure consistency with allocation guidelines and principles to manage stock to sales ratio, forward weeks cover, stock turn, GMROI and return on floor spaceEstablish and manage item plans for imports and local ongoing lines, to effectively manage stock flow to stores and optimise inventory investment to DC and StoresWhat you will bring:2 - 3 years of Merchandise Planning experienceUnderstanding of inventory management within a retail environmentHigh attention to detail and strong analytical skillsExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenProblem solving and resolution skillsAbility to work well within a collaborative, supportive team environment as well as independentlyIf you would like to know more about this opportunity, please send any queries or your CV to;
