About the Role and You
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) will be a strategic leader responsible for driving WorkCover Queensland's enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategy, IT governance, and IT risk framework.
You will provide expert guidance to the Executive leadership and the Board on cybersecurity risks and opportunities, championing a security-conscious culture that supports compliance, strategic goals, and customer-focused outcomes.
With oversight from the Chief Risk Officer, the CISO ensures security policies and standards align with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
Key priorities include advancing security risk maturity, enhancing IT governance, and optimising efficiency through innovation and transformational initiatives.
Key to your success will be your ability to influence and drive cultural and operational improvements, foster a security-conscious environment, and ensure resilience, compliance, and excellence through collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, IT, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Professional certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA) are highly desirable.
Senior leadership experience in risk management, cybersecurity, and IT governance.
Proven track record in strategy development, governance, and enhancing cybersecurity maturity.
Experience managing complex security programs, third-party vendors, and fostering a security-conscious culture.
Leadership in dynamic, change-driven environments, managing ambiguity effectively.
