We are a progressive company with a successful reputation in providing quality plumbing services to a range of clients on projects throughout Australia.About the Role:Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role of the Assistant Accountant is an integral part of the Finance team, providing generalist accounting support to all facets of the Finance team.This role is best suited to a recent graduate, or someone who is nearing the end of their degree, looking to get into a multi-faceted and dynamic role where they will learn about various aspects of the company's financial operations. You will work closely alongside the Finance Manager, and other members of the wider Finance team, to provide financial and administrative services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.Key Task and Duties:Assist Finance Manager with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting including budgeting and forecastingComplete monthly journals including accruals, on-cost adjustments, and job cost adjustmentsComplete balance sheet reconciliation and other reconciliations as required on a timely basisMaintain financial reporting calendar & manage monthly reporting cycle checklistAssist Finance Manager with cash flow forecastingAssist in lodging and paying weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly Tax obligations including PAYG, Payroll tax, IAS and BASContinuous review of current financial procedures with a view of implementing new ideas to improve productivity and reduce financial operational risksAssist with workload in other areas of the Finance team when requiredOther duties as requiredWhat we need from you:Completed, or nearing completion of, a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Major), or similarProven experience in a similar roleMaintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality with sensitive informationExcellent attention to detailThe ability to effectively manage and prioritise tasksThe ability to work to strict time constraints and meet deadlinesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)What's in it for you:This fantastic opportunity will see you expand your current skills and take the next step in your career.
