Cardiac Sonographer

The Cardiac Sonographer will perform electrocardiograms (ECGs), exercise stress testing and may set up ambulatory blood pressure and Holter monitoring.
The Cardiac Sonographer will also perform diagnostic tasks including echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms, providing assistance with transoesophageal echocardiograms.
The position requires the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, recognize all Practice policies and procedures, and observe the highest level of confidentiality.
The principal responsibility of the Cardiac Sonographer is to provide excellent patient care and assistance to the doctors of the Practice by:
Preparing patients for and performing/assisting the delivery of echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, transoesophageal studies, ECGs, ambulatory blood pressure, and Holter monitoring as well as preparing the relevant paperwork, including reporting. Maintaining equipment used in this testing, following the Practice infection control policy. Maintaining Holter room and ultrasound rooms in accordance with Practice policies and procedures. Greeting and relating to patients in a manner consistent with the values of the Practice, ensuring patient confidentiality at all times. Liaising with other staff of the Practice, both clinical and administrative, regarding conducting tests as well as maintenance of medical records and medical billing. Any other duties as required by the Practice. Skills and Qualifications Appropriate tertiary qualification in relation to health/science plus Diploma in Medical Ultrasound (Cardiology) or equivalent qualification. Current ASAR registration and accreditation in Cardiac Sonography. Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. Ability to work flexible hours. Willingness to undertake continual professional development and on-the-job training. Please note this role is currently only needed for Tuesdays.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $75.00 – $90.00 per hour
Expected hours: 7 – 9 per week
Schedule: 8 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Work Location: In person
