Position: Service Manager / Nominated Supervisor
Location: West End State School Outside School Hours Care
About Us: West End State School Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, and educational environment for primary school-aged children.
Run by the P&C Association, our service is designed to support positive outcomes for all children, aligned with the 'My Time, Our Place' Framework for school-age care.
Brief Description: West End State School OSHC is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Service Manager / Nominated Supervisor to join and lead our service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day management, ensuring the service runs smoothly and effectively every day.
The service is currently licensed for 400 children but current enrolments sit around 300 for after school care.
Role and Responsibilities:
Day-to-Day Management: Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.
Educational Leadership: Coordinate strategic plans, lead program delivery, recruit and train staff, and act as a professional role model.
Staff Management: Hire, train, and performance manage staff to meet and exceed service standards.
Quality Care and Programs: Develop and evaluate programs, ensure inclusive practices, manage resources, and maintain high-quality standards.
Family and Community Partnerships: Support families, promote the service within the community, and implement effective communication strategies.
Strategic Partnerships: Build partnerships with TAFE and Brisbane State High future educators to enhance service quality and educational outcomes.
Service Improvement: Monitor service metrics, gather parent feedback, and address gaps or areas for improvement through preventative strategies.
Issue Resolution: Handle issues that arise, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
Financial Management: Oversee budgets, handle accounts, and manage payroll and employee records.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to all regulations, monitor safety procedures, and maintain accurate records.
Compliance with Workplace health and safety requirements.
Administration: Ensure all internal and external reporting and record-keeping is completed as required by policy or regulations.
Ensure all service assets and resources are purchased as specified in the service's policy and monitor the safety, wear, suitability and efficiency of these resources.
Key Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations governing OSHC operations.
Demonstrated experience in developing quality within a service and shape the overall performance, including high quality learning and leisure experiences for children.
Proven experience in leading and managing a multidisciplinary OSHC team.
Current Working with Children Check/Blue Card (or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement).
Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or the ability to obtain one).
National Police Check upon commencement.
Relevant degree or a 3- or 4-year Early Childhood Education qualification, AQF Advanced Diploma, Diploma in Children's Services, Diploma in Out-of-Hours Care, or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role within an OSHC or similar setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Sound understanding of contemporary business, human resources and quality improvement practices.
Financial literacy, including budgeting and financial reporting.
Comprehensive knowledge of My Time, Our Place that is reflected and articulated in programming and reflection on outcomes.

Hours/Conditions/Award: This is a full-time position of 38 hours per week.
Contact hours will be as per the service operating hours, with additional hours to be worked as non-contact and negotiable between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Remuneration will be as per the P&C Award, based on qualifications and experience.
