About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Support System (ILS) Engineer to join our program based at Melbourne, Osborne or anywhere around Australia, reporting to the Support System Integration Manager.
You will be responsible for working with other members of the Support System Team, under the direction and in support of the Systems Engineering Manager to fulfil your responsibility.
Working across aspects of project design and with support teams to ensure a systems orientated, integrated approach is taken with respect to the project engineering development and verification activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Define, develop, and manage system requirements and documentation, including specifications, design documents, and interface specifications.
Establish and oversee safety processes to ensure the HCF Support System meets safety obligations.
Execute system engineering tasks across the BAE Systems Australia Engineering Lifecycle, covering requirements management, design, analysis, testing, and certification.
Drive system design and subsystem partitioning.
Conduct system- and component-level analyses to verify performance and suitability.
Develop work scopes and manage supplier activities.
Maintain accurate design documentation in compliance with configuration control, change management, and traceability standards.
Perform independent reviews, assess technical risks, and support project planning efforts.
About YOU
Bachelor of Engineering.
Significant experience within the Engineering discipline with demonstrated experience in the technical development and Systems Design of engineering projects.
Experience in developing Safety Cases in a defence, aviation or automotive engineering discipline.
Qualifications satisfying the requirements for a member of Engineers Australia or equivalent experience.
Chartered Professional Engineer status, desirable.
Proven ability to function confidently within a project team environment.
Experience with the application of safety in a Support System (ILS) environment.
Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
