Riverland Almonds Hulling (RAH) is an almond hulling and shelling business based in Lindsay Point.
They form part of Nut Producers Australia (NPA) who are an almond and pistachio sales, product trading & marketing business with a charter to maximise returns to growers.
Riverland Almonds, the almond processing company based in Loxton; and, Australian Pioneer Pistachio Co, the pistachio processing company based in Robinvale, round out the NPA business.
About the role: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and strategic development of maintenance and engineering functions for the RAH production facility at Lindsay Point.
It is critical that the Maintenance Manager works closely with, and supports, the Production Manager to deliver high level plant performance and supports initiatives associated with driving improved throughput and high-grade crop recoveries.
Pursue optimal and/or best practice plant and equipment uptime and operating performance.Attend to breakdown repairs in a timely and efficient manner.Implement annual and specific maintenance programs to required timeframes and agreed budgets.Develop and implement an effective preventative maintenance program for all buildings, plant and equipment.Ensure timely and effective completion of the annual maintenance of the plant each season.Ensure the plant is fully operational, load tested, and risk assessed prior to harvest each season.Ensure engineering employee and contractor standard of work meets acceptable benchmarks.Ensure engineering works on buildings, plant and equipment complies with Good Manufacturing Practice for food production.Identify plant and equipment improvements, opportunities and developments and submit fully costed and justified feasibilities as per budget, strategic plan and/or other considerations.Provide effective and transparent spare part management and reporting.Provide effective and transparent maintenance reporting.Provide effective and transparent project status and expenditure reporting.Implement a program to eliminate product wastage including nut spills from all plant and equipment.Who you are: Effective maintenance and engineering expertise in a processing environment.Knowledge and understanding of WHS legislation.Mechanical aptitude and hands-on capability.Experience with development of preventative maintenance programs and schedules.Commitment to continuous improvement of processes, business performance, and staff development.Knowledge of production planning systems or demonstrated competence with Microsoft Word and Excel as minimum.Verbal and written communication.Problem solving and decision making.Achievement focused.Ability to work to an operating budget.Organised and analytical.Can-do attitude with the ability to work harmoniously within a small team.Riverland Almonds Hulling offers a supportive environment, where tolerance and kindness are part of our everyday.
