The OpportunityHall Contracting is seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter to join us on a range of marine projects across the Pacific Islands. This is an excellent opportunity to work on exciting projects in beautiful tropical locations such as Fiji, Tuvalu, the Marshall Islands, and the Solomon Islands.
Note: This role will be on a FIFO basis with a 4:2 roster.
Travel and accommodation will be provided by the company. Key ResponsibilitiesIdentifying reliability issues & improvements to machines and systems.Actively participate in preventative maintenance programs and record keeping through our digital system.Responding to and addressing equipment breakdowns in an appropriate time frame with access to digital manuals and maintenance planners.Preventative maintenance and repairs to a wide range of machinery.Adhering to all OHS Policies & Procedures at all times with digital access to form and procedures to ensuring safety is not compromised.About YouHeavy Diesel or Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate.Post-trade experience with civil construction equipment (excavators, moxy, dozers, graders, etc.
).Experience with Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, or Caterpillar machines is beneficial.Experience with marine equipment (vessels, workboats, barges, dredges) is highly regarded but not essential.Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems, as well as pumps, would be advantageous.Experience in component rebuilds of engines, transmissions, and hydraulic components is beneficial.Self-driven, reliable, and highly interested in the mechanical trades.BenefitsEnjoy a pipeline of ongoing projects across the Tropical Islands (Fiji, Tuvalu, Solomon Islands, and others).Full-time permanent position from day one, offering stability and security with a business that has been operating for 78 yearsVariety of work with exposure to a broad range of marine and civil equipment.Opportunities to expand your qualifications, knowledge, and skills through training.Opportunities for career advancement.Wages paid weekly.Superannuation paid on all hours.All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.
