The "ESS" portfolio is a division of Compass Group that provides a range of support service solutions to the resources sector, particularly remote mine sites and villages.
The Role: Reporting to the General Manager of People who is based in Sydney, the HR Manager (People Operations) will deliver impactful technical advice and dynamic business coaching to our leadership teams.
You'll play a crucial role in enhancing every aspect of the employee lifecycle, driving engagement and success across the organisation
Provide technical advice on complex employee, department, structure and/or change management processes and issuesSupport line leaders on HR/ER matters including employee relations, performance management, remuneration, HR policies & procedures and management practicesContinue to elevate and enhance employee engagement by partnering with managers to foster our thriving workplace culture , implement feedback initiatives and drive initiatives that promote employee satisfaction and retentionEngage with the broader leadership team to develop and implement HR initiatives, and programs of work dedicated to promoting employee well-being and operational excellence and ensure compliance with industrial instruments and HR metrics.
Provide support to payroll as requiredPartner with Operations Leaders and Support Services to develop atalent strategy and agenda that will support employee engagement, retention and talent developmentIdentify opportunities to provide 'fit for purpose' solutions and programs to support the employee lifecycle stageContribute to, and provide leadership for new contract bids and mobilisationsThe Person: A breadth of HR skills and capability, particularly in employee relations and building organisational capability applied within a commercial frameworkDemonstrated experience within the resources sectorA good understanding and knowledge of industrial relations and frameworks and have the ability to build and manage relationships with employees and their representativesA willingness to provide hands on support, and the energy and enthusiasm to get out amongst the business – which may require travelling to remote mining sites and locationsA broad range of influencing skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with a diverse set of stakeholdersAn authentic and confident style that is collaborative, inclusive whilst driving outcomes in a rapidly changing environmentDemonstrated experience in developing and implementing HR strategies that address various facets of employee well-being, including psychosocial factors, physical health, and work-life balance, to enhance engagement, foster a positive workplace culture, and drive organisational successTertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management or Industrial Relations and a demonstrated passion for learningThe Benefits Working in an environment with lean management structures and processes, where HR is a highly valued team member, you will have the ability to have a broad remit and be influential across the business.
