About the role This role is a great opportunity to join a world-class fast-growing engineering team here at Cover Genius, a global insurtech company that has a vision of providing embedded insurance to the world's largest e-commerce partners.
As a part of the technology team, you will be able to contribute your technical skills, experience, and ideas to help the company to build high-quality customer-friendly software products that reflect modern-day customer demands and change the insurance landscape globally.
Key responsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, maintain, deploy and optimize software products and servicesHelp define and refine product requirementsManage individual priorities and deliverablesProvide mentoring to junior and mid-level developersTechnical Requirements for the roleMinimum 5 years of full-time Python backend development experience using Python web frameworks (ideally Django)Proficiency with Python testing (unittest/pytest)Good understanding of REST API developmentExperience using Python ORM tools (e.g, Django Models, SQL Alchemy)Experience using relational databases in a production environmentBasic practical experience working with frontend e.g.
Javascript, HTML, CSSPrevious experience maintaining Python applications that manage large workloads in production environments using Kubernetes and Helm or similar technologiesExperience using observability tools e.g.
Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana, NewRelic and PrometheusNice to have:Understanding of modern DevOps practicesFunctional knowledge of any of the following technologies:CeleryRabbitMQGitLab CIArgoCDWhat the ideal profile looks likeStrong communication skills - we are a highly collaborative teamAbility to work in an agile team environmentInterest in working in a fast-moving environmentEligible to work in Australia (Australian citizen/Permanent Resident), ideally located in Sydney Why Cover Genius?
