At the SEC, we are building an enterprising and dynamic team to accelerate Victoria's transition to renewables and help achieve Victoria's renewable energy target of 95% by 2035.

Your roleAs Grid Connection Lead at the SEC, you will be responsible for ensuring our assets successfully navigate network connection risks and opportunities, providing power systems leadership across the lifecycle of a project as we build up our asset portfolio.
Your expertise will guide investment and design decisions, through project development and acquisition opportunities, as well as supporting the delivery team, as assets make their way through the commissioning phases during construction.
Your input will also drive SEC regulator relationships and help shape grid thought leadership in the SEC's interest as we contribute to strengthening the Victorian network.
This role can be based in either our Melbourne CBD office or our regional office located in Morwell.
Core accountabilities include:Power systems leadership across the assets team, supporting the business understand network and grid connection risks and opportunities.Securing new grid connections, taking carriage of the process from feasibility, Connection Enquiry, through to an Offer to Connect and execution of Connection Agreements.Stakeholder Management, representing the SEC and our interests in managing regulatory stakeholders.Ad hoc support the connection of assets in delivery phase, including assisting delivery teams through commissioning processes.Who you are:Must Have:Must have experience in the process of securing grid connections for Renewable generation/storage assets.Adept in managing technical advisors, consultants, contractors and technology providers.A deep understanding of the Victorian NEM and regulatory framework.A commercial and entrepreneurial mindset, underpinning a strong technical foundation in power systems engineering.Qualifications in electrical engineering and/or other complimentary qualifications.Highly Desirable:An understanding of PSS/e, PSCAD, DMAT, and SMIB modelling processes.An understanding of the National Electricity Rules (NER).An understanding of the VTIF and the Victorian Access Regime.About usWe have an exciting and ambitious road ahead with a focus on investing in renewable energy and storage projects that accelerate the transition and deliver commercial returns.
