You will collaborate with classroom teachers from Year 7 to Year 12 in planning for and delivering well-balanced programs and making suitable adjustments for students with additional learning and support needs.
You will have responsibility for some administrative aspects of learning intervention, such as NCCD, disability provisions, and development of personal learning plans.
You will be committed to the achievement of excellence, a strong collaborator, and confident in using effective pedagogy and classroom management.
You will have your own teaching allocation.Essential CriteriaA working understanding of, and commitment to, the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.Qualified Secondary Teacher (note subject/s you are qualified to teach) or Primary Teacher with NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW to assist with your teaching allocation.Proven experience and ability to plan, implement, model, monitor, and evaluate teaching programs for students with additional learning and support needs in conjunction with regular classroom teachers.Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.Demonstrates effective classroom management through clear expectations, proactive behaviour strategies, and fostering a positive learning environment.Demonstrated success in differentiation of curriculum.Effectively incorporates ICT into teaching, learning, and assessment to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.Desirable CriteriaPostgraduate qualifications in one or more areas related to special education, inclusive education, and/or differentiation.Experience with NESA applications and requirements for HSC Disability Provisions.How to ApplyTo express your interest in joining our highly motivated professional staff, apply via the online 'Career Application' available on our website Working at SPC | St Patrick's College Strathfield.Your application should consist of :Cover letter (maximum two pages) that highlights your claim for the role and demonstrates your suitability by addressing the following two target questions :a) What motivates you to want to become a learning support teacher with St Patrick's College, Strathfield?b) How would you use your expertise to effectively support the learnings of our students?Current CV (maximum five pages) outlining your qualifications, experience, and skills together with the contact information for three (3) referees (at least two must be from your current employer).Essential to this position is a commitment to the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition together with a commitment to the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of all children and young people.Evidence of a valid WWCC clearance will be required prior to employment.A working understanding of, and a commitment to the Catholic ethos of a school in the Edmund Rice tradition, a valid Working with Children clearance, and participation in the co-curricular program, are essential conditions of employment.St Patrick's College is a child safe and child-centred organisation, committed to the protection of children and has zero-tolerance of any abuse of children.
