About the Port
The Port of Townsville Limited (the Port) has been actively shaping the future of Townsville and North Queensland for almost 160 years.
Today, we are Australia's largest port for zinc, lead, copper, sugar and fertiliser. Additionally, we handle more motor vehicles and containerised goods than any other port in Northern Australia. The goods that flow through our ports are grown, mined, manufactured and used to better the lives of more than 800,000 people across a vast catchment area, spanning from Hinchinbrook to the Burdekin and west to Mount Isa.
On average, more than 7.5 million tonnes of goods, worth more than $11.4 billion, cross our wharves each year. Thanks to our customers, we are one of the country's most diverse ports, linking more than 30 different commodities to 130 ports in 44 countries.
The Townsville port is also an increasingly strategic forward mounting location in Australia's Defence capabilities, as well as an important tourism enabler due to its modern dedicated cruise ship terminal.

About the role and you
The ERP Change and Training Officer is a dual-role which undertake the day to day responsibilities of the change duties associated with the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and a Property Management System. This role involves execution of the change management strategies to ensure smooth transitions, user adoption, and overall success of ERP Project initiatives. Additionally, this role involves designing, implementing, and delivering training programs to ensure effective user adoption of the new ERP processes and functionalities.
Due to the nature of the project and function of the role, performance of the role will be at Port's Townsville office. Remote working options are not applicable to the role.
As the ERP Change and Training Officer you will:
Implement the change management strategy for the ERP Project, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
Monitor and report potential areas of resistance and escalate where required.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including business unit managers, end-users, and project teams, to understand their needs and concerns.
Communicate the benefits of ERP changes and foster a positive attitude towards the transformation.
Support the execution of communication plans to keep stakeholders informed about changes, milestones, and project updates.
Deliver training programs to ensure end-users are proficient in new ERP processes and functionalities.
Provide ongoing support and address user concerns to ensure a positive user experience.
Work closely with project team to develop strategies to mitigate concerns.
Foster a culture of openness and collaboration to facilitate a smooth transition.
Support the impact assessments to understand the effects of ERP changes on various business units and processes.
Work with project team to implement mitigation plans for potential risks and challenges.
Work closely with Project Manager, project team and working groups ensure change management activities align with project timelines and goals.
Provide insights on the human aspect of the ERP implementation.
Experience you'll need
To be successful in the role, you will require:
Relevant certification in Training.
National Police Check.
Current C Class Drivers Licence.
Experience in either change and / or communications role.
Experience in developing and/or delivering training.
Demonstrated understanding of Tier 1 or 2 ERP systems and their impact on business processes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to create and deliver training programs, workshops, and communications tailored to diverse audiences.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges associated with organisational change and training.
Team collaboration to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Flexibility and adaptability to navigate ambiguity and evolving project requirements.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Experience in using Tier 1 or 2 ERPs such as TechnologyOne, Oracle, SAP.
