Plant Leading Hand (Yardman) - Sydney Metro Location Gunlake is the largest local independent supplier of concrete and quarry products in NSW.
We currently have five concrete plants in operation and another in the development phase.
We are proudly Australian and family-owned, spanning four generations in the concrete and quarrying industry in Australia.

Our Team is looking for a Plant Leading Hand who is professional, enthusiastic, and demonstrates a strong work ethic.

You will report to the Plant / Area Manager and will be responsible for general presentation and maintenance of the plant and equipment.

Plant Leading Hand - Tasks and Responsibilities
Daily yard walk to ensure walkways, stairs, etc.
are clear of trip hazards.
Work with Allocator to ensure Agi Drivers are ready for work and moving into position ready to be loaded.
Manage the aggregate tippers unloading in the yard.
Ensure traffic flows freely through the yard.
Push up material when needed.
Manage yard waste – book waste truck when required and load when able.
Complete minor plant maintenance as required.
Maintain yard cleanliness at all times.
Clean and maintain FEL daily.
Check and replace plant safety signage as required.
Fix, repair or replace plant and equipment as needed (Manager approval may be required).
Work with Plant Managers and Allocators to reduce unproductive overtime.
Complete Yard End of Day procedure – Hose out load bay, check all trucks are parked in suitable locations so they do not interfere with out-of-hour deliveries.
Empty rubbish bins if needed ready for next day.
Carrying out regular greasing.
Clean under and around conveyors.
