The Company With over 20 years of success in delivering major projects across NSW, including some of the city's most iconic buildings, our client has built a strong reputation in the growing Data Centre market.
Now recognized as the go-to Mechanical Contractor in this space, they are looking to expand their team.
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their highly skilled design team of 25.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects and be part of a team that is shaping the future of mechanical engineering in the Data Centre sector.
Key Responsibilities: Support the Project/Engineering Manager in the creation of Contract and Design Documents. Develop concept designs and integrate effective value engineering during the bidding phase. For projects with incomplete specifications, take the lead on engineering planning, design, and work assignments as needed. Work closely with the Engineering Manager to plan and allocate engineering resources, ensuring alignment with the project schedule. Oversee the development, review, and coordination of engineering design deliverables, including reports, detailed layouts, schematics, and calculations such as heat load estimates, as outlined in specific contracts and client requirements. Assist in managing drafting personnel, both internal and subcontracted, to ensure timely delivery of high-quality, coordinated Workshop Drawings. Handle the scheduling, selection, and verification of HVAC equipment. Maintain and manage the documentation and records for the Engineering Department. Contribute to the planning and implementation of procedures and control systems to ensure the effective execution and maintenance of the project's engineering deliverables. Attend and actively participate in client design meetings, presentations, and services coordination meetings. Assist in the selection and ongoing evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors concerning engineering and project delivery aspects. Provide on-site support to Project Teams, ensuring the correct delivery, installation, and commissioning of projects. Comply with the Company's Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSE&Q) policies and procedures. Qualifications and Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience within the building services space. Prior experience with Data Centre projects is highly desirable, but large-scale healthcare, commercial, and retail project experience will also be considered. Experience within the mechanical contractor space is advantageous, but commercially minded engineers from consultancy backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
