The Port of Darwin is Northern Australia's port of choice for both import and export trade.

About the roleWe are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced person that has a strong background in the maritime industry as well as a commitment to safety and excellence.
You will be responsible for assisting with the safe transportation for Marine Pilots transferring to and from vessels and special personnel on board Darwin Port Operations vessels.
You will also assist with the maintenance of Darwin Port Operations vessels.
Skills & ExperienceTo be successful in this role you will need to have:
the ability to work a rotating roster including weekends, public holidays, and nightshifts.experience in personnel transfers at seaexperience in marine plant and machinery operationcurrent first aid certificateCertificate of Safety Training or equivalentexcellent communication and teamwork skillshold a current Master Class 5 and Marine Engine Driver 2short range VHF certificate of proficiencypractical understanding of weather patterns affecting the Northern Territoryexcellent navigational, vessel handling, and crew management skillsAll applicants must hold a NT driver's License, hold or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identity Card (MSIC), will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment, and will be subject to Drug and Alcohol testing in accordance with Company policy. 24 x 12 hr shifts of annual leave per annum (accrued pro rata)A supportive and collaborative work environmentPermanent full-time positionHours of work - 24/7 rotating shift roster working 12-hour shifts of 4 days on & 4 days off.You are expected to carry out your position in alignment with the Darwin Port values of Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Honesty, and Safety.
