Exciting, fixed-term temporary full-time opportunity for 12 months leading corporate and governance operations for Forensic Science Queensland | Play a key role in FSQ's vision of becoming a world-class leader in forensic services | Located at Coopers Plains with free onsite parking.
Leading and managing a small, high performing team, this role will continually improve corporate service delivery across Records, Facilities, Finance, Administration, IT and Governance and ensure operations are conducted efficiently and effectively in an environment of competing demands and conflicting objectives.
This role will:
Contribute to best practice, contemporary resource management decisions within FSQ.Provide strategic and operational leadership and direction regarding governance, risk, policy and planning.Collaborate with leaders to identify and assess opportunities for system improvements and alternative delivery models that will realise short and long-term benefits.Provide expert strategic advice to senior managers on management strategies, systems, processes, policies and procedures.The successful person You will have:
High level ability to provide authoritative advice and recommendations addressing business management and service delivery issues in a diverse, multidisciplinary service-delivery organisation.Proven success identifying and analysing operational service delivery problems and implementing remedial strategies.Demonstrated corporate services management and leadership skills to enable the development and successful implementation of corporate and governance initiatives.Well-developed effective communication, interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work as a collegiate, influential, credible advisor and effective part of a management team, as well as build collaborative, meaningful networks and relationships with stakeholders.Demonstrated experience providing leadership in system and process review and implementation of change.Proven ability to develop and manage an effective and efficient team with a positive culture and a strong focus on service delivery.About us Located at Coopers Plains, Brisbane, FSQ operates specialised Forensic Biology, Forensic Chemistry and Forensic Operations functions that provides forensic services and expert advice to the Queensland Police Service (QPS) and the Coroner's Court of Queensland.
Our work at FSQ involves exposure to material related to deaths and criminal offences that may be confronting, due to its graphic and personal nature.
Sensitive and professional management of exhibits and information is a critical requirement of this role.
The successful candidate will have personal qualities that include well developed resilience, tact and effective strategies for managing themselves and their ability to support colleagues in situations that may be distressing and stressful.
