About the role We are seeking an ambitious and proactive Legal Assistant to join our highly regarded Sydney Commercial practice.
This role will provide dedicated support to two Partners and a close-knit team within the Technology, IP and Patent Litigation space.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to further develop their legal career in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Your duties will include:
Correspondence and complete matter managementTime entry and monthly billingMaintaining the team's client databaseBooking travel arrangementsDiary management and coordinating meetingsManual and electronic filing and general administrative dutiesConducting IP searches, expert witness searches and engagementAssistance in the preparation of briefs to counsel.About you You enjoy providing exceptional support and thrive in a high-energy environment.
You are genuinely interested in intellectual property, pharmaceuticals, biotech and life sciences.

To be successful in this role you will have:
Experience in a specialist IP firm or patent litigation firm is highly regardedGood analytical and search skillsA proactive approach and enthusiasm to work independently and as part of a teamStrong attention to detail and efficient time management skillsA high level of professionalism, a personable and friendly disposition, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levelsKnowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and experience with billing systems (Aderant Expert).Maddocks is simply a great place to do great work.
