People who do what's right, aim high, and work smart.Why not see where we can go?Job Description***To be eligible for this role you must haveCertificate IV in Life Insurance***This role is responsible for TAL's risk philosophy and profitability through sound underwriting standards and practices.In this role you will:Provide quality underwriting service in line with TAL's underwriting philosophy, standards and practices in order to maintain a profitable risk portfolioAssist with adviser enquiries, escalations and complaints to satisfactory conclusionAssess new applications within agreed timeframeAction Review files within agreed timeframePartner with CustomersCommunicates openly to engage customers, peers, and partners using a variety of communication strategies (face-to-face, written, telephone and presentations)Enthusiastically collaborates with other teams and colleaguesContributes to a proactive, consistent customer experience across the underwriting team, identifying customer issues and opportunities to resolve themBuilds our businessDemonstrates a strong business acumen, with a sound knowledge of current policies and procedures and how to apply themBehaves consistently in a way that builds and inspiring and engaged high performance cultureThinks innovatively and challenges the status quo, helping to embed changes that add value to customers and partnersDrives ResultsOrganises workload and priorities to adhere to agreed timeframes and service standardsExplores alternative solutions to improve effectiveness and productivity within the teamMakes informed and timely decisions when appropriate, weighing up risks and outcomes using sound risk awareness and management practicesConnects with PeopleRegularly evaluates own capabilities and sets development goals in conjunction with the manager using the 70:20:10 model of learning and developmentEnsures others are treated fairly and equitablyLooks out for others and supports them whilst challenging assertively but with respect.QualificationsMinimum 5 years Life Insurance industry experienceTertiary qualification in Finance or related disciplineStrong Group Risk experience would be advantageousIn-depth underwriting and industry knowledgeExcellent time management and organisational skillsA comprehensive understanding of the business and life insurance industry, including any new approaches or practices being introducedGood working knowledge of professional standard and codesPrevious underwriting authority limitsStrong Medical, financial and systems knowledgeAbility to work autonomouslyHigh attention to detailCertificate IV in Life InsuranceYou'realwaysaccountable for your actions.
