The intensity of growth and investment in City of Parramatta means that Council, their partners, and community have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape the City's future and ensure it is culturally, socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable.About the roleAs the Governance & Procurement Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that key governance and procurement processes of Council run efficiently and effectively. This position will lead a capable team of Governance, GIPA and Procurement specialists to manage a wide range of functions.Key Responsibilities:Lead compliance and ensure delegations framework support the effective governance of Council.Oversee the maintenance of Council's relevant databases, records management, reporting systems, registers and information made publicly available.Manage the review and alignment of governance policies and procedures and provide advice on service improvements.Lead and provide overall direction of safeguarding policy, provision of advice and management of mandatory reporting responsibilities.Consult and liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders.Provide expertise, guidance, leadership and oversight on Council's procurement strategy and contract management practices.Influence key stakeholders through positive relationships to build and promote good governance and procurement.About YouWe are looking for a leader with:Degree qualification/s in governance, policy, commercial or related field.Extensive experience with (7+ years) in governance, policy and procurement in a local government or equivalent.Significant experience in leading diverse, multidisciplinary teams and delivering services.Advanced strategic and practical procurement and contract management.Exceptional communication skills and effective management of partnerships, including both internal and external stakeholders.Extensive demonstrable detailed understanding of the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.Demonstrated ability to work in a politically sensitive environment.High level research and analytical skills in corporate governance, procurement and policy development.What's on offerWe are offering an attractive remuneration from $168,170.11 to $186,439.44 plus 11.5% superannuation.In addition City of Parramatta also offer excellent employee benefits which include:A range of flexible work arrangements including hybrid WFH arrangements.14 weeks paid parental leave.Access to Long Service Leave after 5 years.Central Parramatta location (Public transport at our door, discounted parking).Significant leave benefits (Flexi-time, 3 additional leave days at Christmas, 15 days sick/personal leave, 2 days health and wellbeing leave per year).Learning and development opportunities.Health and Wellbeing programs (Fitness Passport, flu shots, etc.).Want to know more?Further information regarding the requirements of this role can be found in the attached Position Description.How to applyCandidates must apply online attaching a Cover Letter addressing the requirements of this role.Applications close 4pm, Sunday 1st December and will not be accepted through any other medium.City of Parramatta plans to hold interviews for this position in mid-December with an expected start date for the successful candidate in January 2025.The successful candidate is required to be vaccinated (at least 2 doses of a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine) in accordance with Council's vaccination policy.
