The Office of the Chief Psychiatrist is an independent statutory body that oversees the standards of high-quality mental health care to Western Australians.
Our goal is to ensure that the standard of mental health services available to people serves to improve the mental health and wellbeing of those whose need is greatest and in keeping with the Mental Health Care Principles in the Mental Health Act 2014.
We currently have a Permanent Full-Time role available to fill. This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent and Fixed Term Full Time appointments with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. About usThe Office of the Chief Psychiatrist (OCP) is an independent statutory body established under the Mental Health Act 2014 (WA).
The Chief Psychiatrist is a statutory officer who holds powers and duties as prescribed by the Mental Health Act 2014.
The Chief Psychiatrist is responsible for overseeing the treatment and care of all voluntary patients, involuntary patients, mentally impaired accused detained at an authorised hospital, residents of private psychiatric hostels who are active with a mental health service, and all persons referred for examination by a psychiatrist.
The Mental Health Commission (Commission) is the employing authority of choice for staff employed by the Chief Psychiatrist.

You will have experience in change management and demonstrated high-level monitoring and evaluation skills.
About the roleThe Standards Monitor and Data Analyst is responsible for monitoring standards of psychiatric care and mandatory reporting systems.
This role also contributes to the development and implementation of effective data collection and reporting systems in relation to mandatory and other reporting requirements of the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist and undertakes research and projects as required.
