Our in-house Renewal Energy Academy provides a first-class learning and development program.We have created our Environment & Society Portfolio to provide direction, focus, resources and support to an industry-leading centre of excellence, helping us to win more work and deliver benefits for communities and local environments.Your OpportunityWe are seeing immense opportunities in the Australian market to leverage our global skills and relationships, coupled with local leadership, to deliver a step change in Australia's Net Zero journey.We have identified an exciting leadership role for a Renewable Energy Approvals Lead to join us in our Sydney office. This Technical Director level role will build and identify new business opportunities - with a focus in the Renewable Energy market - and convert prospects into projects. The role will work closely with our Australian Environment & Society Portfolio leadership team setting the strategic direction and maturing our approvals offering across our Australian business.As a Technical Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and business development in our renewable energy approvals offering, with an initial focus on NSW. As part of our Environment and Society portfolio management team, this role would also collaborate with senior colleagues to provide services across other markets including transport, defence, urban planning, and water.Your key roles and responsibilities will involve:Leveraging existing client relationships and building new relationships to build and identify new business opportunities to secure environment and approvals work from key clients, with a particular focus on energy projects, including renewables and transmission & distribution. Collaborate with our market and account leaders to bring the best of Mott MacDonald to our clients.Leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver environmental impact assessments for major infrastructure projects in energy, and bring your skills to transport, water and social infrastructure markets as required.Management of approvals projects across the project lifecycle from proposal through to delivery on projects.Collaborate with interstate team members as part of business development and project delivery to deliver a nationally consistent client experience and quality.Contribute to promotion of our Environment & Society capability within the industry.Mentoring and guiding junior staff members within the teamAbility to manage and coordinate relationships with sub-consultants to ensure successful delivery of major projects.About youYou have prior experience within the consultancy industry, working with multi-discipline teams on complex projects. At this level you can bring and establish long term positive client relationships in the Energy market and secure work from our current key clients.We would love to hear from you if you have:a relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science, environmental engineering, planning or similar.experience in impact assessment or regulatory approvals for energy projects.knowledge and experience of State and Commonwealth legislation and regulationsproven history in identifying, winning and delivering projects.experience in a consulting environment with business development and client relationship skills.
