Field Service Electrician

Job Purpose
The Electrician A Grade will be based at our Welshpool location, joining a small WA team of 8 employees from multiple departments, working to support the wider business.
In this role you will be responsible to design, troubleshoot, modify, assemble, install, test, commission, diagnose, maintain, and repair electrical networks, systems, circuits, equipment, components, appliances, electrical wiring systems and associate fixtures, controls, equipment, facilities, service, and repair related equipment in the field and in advised locations.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn the field for Energy Systems and Motive Power, as per advised locations, install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring systems and associate fixtures, controls, equipment and facilities, and service and repair related equipment.Perform work to Australian StandardsExamine blueprints, wiring diagrams and specificationsMeasure and lay out installation reference pointsSelect, cut, and connect wire and cable to terminals and connectorsUse electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faultsRepair and replace faulty wiring and defective partsPosition and install electrical switchboardsConnect electrical systems to power supplyTest continuity of circuitDeal with staff, contractors, subcontractors, and members of the public in a polite and courteous mannerInstall and maintain 48v, 24v DC Power Systems for critical network systemsElectrical installation, maintenance and repairs to GSM Shelters, equipment rooms, control rooms, electrical switch rooms, radar and satellite facilities, electrolyser shelters and DC power systems on site and in the FieldComplete documentation and timesheets for each project for QA, OHS, legal, billing and compliance recordsAssist with estimating hours and materials for specific tasksSkills and CompetenciesStrong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in workmanshipAbility to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication and collaboration skills.Demonstrated commitment to reliability and punctualityCommitted to completing customer jobs according to scheduleSelf-motivated, able to use initiativeHonest, reliable, pro-active approach with maturity and a strong sense of responsibilityWillingness to accurately self-assess and engage in ongoing professional and personal developmentDesire to do a precise and thorough jobExcellent internal and external customer service focusBe flexible to respond to the needs of the businessWilling to learn and take directionSavvy minded and can think a little left of field / outside the boxAn avid supporter of our fully inclusive culture - we celebrate difference and ensure that everyone belongsEducational/Vocational RequirementsRequired:A Grade Electrician's licenseCurrent Drivers LicenceAbility to work at heightsAbility to read and interpret plans and drawingsExperience in Installing electrical conduits, pits, and underground reticulationExperience in installing LV boards, room air conditioning systems, and PLC control systemsBasic skills in: Problem solving; Organisation; Communication & interpersonal skills; and Computer literacy – Microsoft Office / Windows environmentPreferred:LVR (Low Voltage Rescue) certificate (Preferrable, but not essential)Refrigeration licence (Preferrable, but not essential)First Aid Certificate (Preferrable, but not essential)Radhaz Certificate (Preferrable, but not essential)If working at heights: a current Elevated Work Platform certificate, Working at Heights Certificate and Tower Rescue certificateCompany DescriptionEnerSys is the global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications.
