Senior Coordinator Planning and Strategic Initiatives This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time, Permanent Full Time and Permanent Part Time appointments with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

We currently have one fixed term (12 months) position of up to 1 FTE available for immediate start, full or part time options are available.

We have two portfolios available - Clinical Service Planning and Strategic Initiatives .

About our Team
The Clinical Services Strategy, Planning, and Innovation department leads strategic clinical service planning across the Child and Adolescent Health Service, focusing on enhancing service capabilities while driving innovation and reform.

In collaboration with stakeholders and partners across WA Health, we develop, implement, and continuously review internal and external processes for large-scale clinical service projects, ensuring alignment with community needs and State Government priorities.

Our department also plays a key role in policy development, performance monitoring, and coordinating input on contemporary models of care, all aimed at improving health outcomes for children and young people in Western Australia, in line with the strategic objectives of CAHS and WA Health.

About the Role
We are seeking highly skilled Senior Coordinators to join our team and help CAHS deliver on strategic and clinical planning objectives.
Your efforts will directly contribute to the enhancement of healthcare services for children and adolescents across WA.

Senior Coordinator – Strategic Initiatives
This portfolio leads the development of strategic initiatives that support CAHS in achieving key strategic objectives, including policy development and system reform, in alignment with the WA Health agenda and evidence-based practices.
A current example of this work is the First 1000 Days Framework , a whole-of-government initiative focused on early intervention.

You will be responsible for planning, facilitating, and evaluating strategic initiatives, participating in CAHS reference groups, and working closely with internal and external partners and stakeholders to coordinate efforts across the health system, ensuring projects stay within scope, budget, and timelines.
You will also prepare high-quality reports, business cases, and ministerial responses related to service planning and initiatives.

The successful candidate will leverage skills and experience in project management and strategic planning within a healthcare context, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to achieve outcomes in strategy development.
An understanding of evidence-based best practices is essential to this role.

Senior Coordinator - Clinical Planning
This portfolio leads the development of organisation-wide clinical service strategy, planning and service development initiatives within Perth Children's Hospital and across CAHS.
You will leverage project management skills to ensure planning projects remain within scope, meet timelines, and achieve objectives while identifying and mitigating potential risks.

You will engage with Heads of Department (HoDs) to define clear directions and plans for service delivery and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery and strategic alignment.

You will conduct research and health and performance data analysis to evaluate funding models and inform service strategy and planning and provide insights on trends affecting strategic clinical planning at both state and national levels.
Advanced analytical and data interpretation skills, a strong understanding of clinical service planning and the ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is essential to your success in this role.
