918679 This is a Permanent Full Time Appointment. Position Profile: We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to join our Paediatric and Adolescent Comprehensive Cancer & Blood Disorder Service at Perth Children's Hospital.
This leadership position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of paediatric oncology and haematology care in Western Australia.
As the Manager, Cancer and Blood Disorders, you will work closely with the Head of Department and Nursing Coordinator to drive the strategic development, integration, and evaluation of our specialist service.
Your role will ensure the alignment of our services with national and international care standards, delivering safe, high-quality, and family-centred care.
You will oversee the clinical and corporate governance of the service, providing strategic leadership in research, knowledge translation, and educational opportunities for the oncology and haematology workforce.
Your ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders will be crucial to maintaining engagement and driving service excellence.
The current focus of this role is on refining and evolving strategic and operational plans to support the growth of our services, ensuring contemporary models of care.
Key initiatives include the development and implementation of the Transplant and Cellular Therapy Service and building of outward focusing models of care including the Apheresis Service, and Survivorship and Transition Service and increasing our capacity for early-phase clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities include: Leading the development and growth of cancer and haematology services, including program leadership in safety, quality, and risk management.
Managing human, financial, and physical resources, ensuring efficient service delivery.
Driving continuous improvement projects and support research initiatives that enhance patient care outcomes.
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to advance service development and align strategic goals.
Leading workforce development initiatives, ensuring professional supervision, education, and staff wellbeing.
If you have clinical/health background with strong leadership skills with experience in strategic planning and program development in a healthcare setting we encourage you to apply.
Sound knowledge of oncology, haematology, and cellular therapy is advantageous.
About our Department The Department of Paediatric and Adolescent Oncology and Haematology at Perth Children's Hospital provides statewide, comprehensive care for children aged 0–16 and their families, addressing a wide range of cancer and haematology conditions, including malignant and non-malignant blood disorders.
Our services are designed to meet the complex medical, psychological, and emotional needs of young patients and their families through a holistic, multidisciplinary approach.
This includes the diagnosis and management of cancer and blood disorders, as well as pain management, nutritional support, infection prevention, and psychological support to help families cope with the challenges of cancer and chronic illness.
We also provide education, follow-up, and survivorship care.
We work in close collaboration with other hospitals and participate in clinical trials across national and international networks to facilitate better outcomes for our young patients.
