Electrical Design Engineer
The opportunity
As our new Electrical Design Engineer, located in Sydney, you will play a crucial role in the Industrial EI&C team that is revolutionising the design and delivery of major projects to achieve carbon neutrality and sustainability.
Your passion for innovative problem-solving and commitment to continuous learning will be essential in shaping a more sustainable future.
Here, you'll have the chance to harness your expertise and enthusiasm as you collaborate with a diverse team on fast-paced and exciting projects.

Your role will include:
In-depth knowledge of heavy industrial and process plant projects A fundamental knowledge of key Australian Standards Prior experience with client interfacing roles Experience in detailed design of electrical systems Experience with power systems software Aurecon's Industrial EI&C team in Sydney is dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for industrial processes.
Comprised of skilled professionals, the team uses cutting-edge technology and industry best practices to tackle complex challenges in electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
With a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement, we aim to create a greener future for industries across the region, redefining the possibilities of industrial engineering.

What are we looking for from you?

Alongside your industry experience in similar engineering consulting, or equivalent roles, you'll also have:
Completed a Degree in Electrical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia A minimum of 5 years' post-graduate experience working on industrial projects, delivering process plant projects, energy sector, water sector or mining projects ensuring quality deliverables while meeting agreed schedules.
In-depth knowledge of 'in-plant' electrical distribution (MV and LV systems) and motor control systems Applied knowledge of relevant standards including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008.1.1 and AS/NZS 2067.
Understanding of renewable energy, industrial communications systems would be viewed favourably.
Experience across all project development phases including concept, FEED and detail design Ability to proactively interact with Project Managers, discipline engineers and designers to support project deliverables.
Demonstrated communication skills both written and verbal.
