About the Role
Reporting to our Managing Director, the primary responsibility is to deliver high-quality various engineering services and drafting in an efficient and effective manner, including (but not limited to):
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Analyse & review drawings, scope of work documents, contractual terms and conditions and client specifications
Understand and develop material take-offs and clearly defined work scopes
Ensure all equipment and assets are promptly serviced and maintained and ready for safe, efficient and professional operation
Work closely with clients to provide technical design and support to increase the value delivered by the company
Collect and review subcontractor & supplier quotations and negotiate to ensure quotes meet all relevant requirements
Accurately calculate operational hours and costs
Prepare CAD drawings for suitable sketches to communicate fabrication details (platform flexible)
When required, visit client sites to take site measurements and site assessments
Fully package and document (electronically) all data using KAW's internal document management system
Work as a team member to ensure daily tasks are completed
Prepare and manage project QA documentation: ITP's, MDR's, carry out detailed handover of all items to the production team with clear documentation and scope, procedure items and all requirements
Work with Project Managers to cost and document ongoing project variations
Pro-actively participate, communicate and encourage safety awareness in the workplace
Responsible for the accuracy and validity of all components within our internal costing databases
Work with the team to ensure high-quality products are manufactured consistently, safely, on time, and on budget
Qualifications & Skills
Relevant (Fabrication) Trade Qualification and/or Bachelor level qualification in Structural/Mechanical Engineering
Able to read and understand complex Architectural, Mechanical and Structural plans and develop full material take off's and cost estimates
Highly computer literate with advanced proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project & Adobe Acrobat (Essential)
Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, OnShape, Solidworks etc.)
will be highly regarded
Experience with programming languages (Java, Python, Ruby, VB etc.)
will be highly regarded
Ability to assess, prioritize and adapt to multiple tasks, projects and demands with efficient and established time management/prioritisation skills
A practical and intuitive approach to problem-solving with the ability to innovate, self-motivate and thrive with minimal supervision
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Enthusiastic, flexible and driven to meet commitments and deadlines as required
Excellent planning and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and personal pride in work quality (Essential)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate closely and effectively with colleagues, suppliers and clients at all levels
Ability to build and maintain key relationships with new and existing clients for the expansion and development of new business working closely with them to understand their requirements and develop bespoke solutions

This is not a FIFO position, however, an applicant who is willing to relocate to Karratha may be considered for a short-term FIFO engagement to assist through probationary periods and during relocation.
