The Role
One of Sydney's best known, and largest hospitality group is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join its Head Office in the CBD.
You will be responsible for the delivery of timely, accurate and robust reporting to support business decision making.
The role will be to partner with key stakeholders to support growth and play a key role in the transformation of the Finance function and positively contribute to the brand and culture of the team.
You need to be confident with technical knowledge, have a hands-on approach, the ability to communicate with a range of people across the business and be self-motivated to drive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities: Be the people leader for a team of three Assistant Accountants whose role is to perform the daily/weekly/monthly accounting.The month-end close process completion of necessary checks to ensure accuracy of financial information, delivering the month-end reporting pack with commentary of business performance and present to the CFO.Balance sheet reconciliations including problem solving and identifying areas for improvement and efficiency savings.HQ cost centre management including preparation of budgets/forecasts, understanding reasons for variances and partnering with functional heads to provide financial support and insights.The year-end close process including the preparation of consolidated group results and coordination, with support, of the management of the external audit process.Work as part of the broader Finance team playing an active role in ad hoc projects, analytics and initiatives.Provide active upwards support enabling the finance function to achieve its goals and objectives. To be successful in this position, you will also have the following skills, knowledge and attributes:
CA/CPA qualified.5+ years post degree experience.
Big 4 or complex corporate environment advantageous.Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and provide accuracy to month end and financial year end accounting practices.Ability to drive improvements in systems, processes and procedures.Strong technical skills including knowledge of current accounting standards.Excellent communication, financial storytelling, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, influence at various levels.Ability to work in a dynamic and ever-expanding business.Internal drive to learn, progress and succeed.
