About the role: Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for managing fleets and operations?
Barcaldine Regional Council is on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Coordinator to oversee our plant, fleet, and operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe service delivery.
Key Responsibilities: Partner with the Senior Works Supervisor to oversee the operation of Councils fixed and mobile assets functions. Identify opportunities to maximise asset utilisation and return on invested capital. Analyse operational metrics from fixed and mobile assets to improve performance and maximise returns. Support daily operations, including workshop optimisation, strategic partnerships, insurance claim management, acquisitions, and disposals. Assess risks involved with new initiatives, ensure deadlines are met and be ready to handle unexpected situations. Fleet planning and performance monitoring. Ensuring business objectives are achieved. Volume planning and lifecycle management. Develop telemetrics across Councils fleet. Details and Benefits: Location: All districts considered, Barcaldine preferred. Classification Level: To be negotiated with the successful applicant. Wage: To be negotiated with the successful applicant. Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly. Hours of work: 76 hours over 9 days with a rostered day off (RDO) every fortnight. Leave Entitlements: Five (5) weeks annual leave per annum + 17.5% Loading.

We are Looking for: Trade qualified or Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle with at least 5 years' fleet management experience; Proven experience in coordinating workshop operations, including plant and equipment service and repair, scheduling, and prioritisation; Demonstrated experience in developing/training and supervising a team of staff; Demonstrated experience in the service and maintenance of light vehicles, light and heavy equipment, and heavy commercial vehicles; Minimum QLD 'HR' Driver Licence; Current General Construction Induction (White/Blue) Card; QLD Transport Inspection Station Officer accreditation (desirable); Proven ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure; Demonstrated general administrative experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
