Due to upcoming parental leave, SLR's rapidly growing social performance team are looking to recruit a Principal Consultant with a strong background in designing and delivering Social Impact Assessments, first nations engagement and designing and implementing community and stakeholder engagement programs.
This opportunity to join one of SLR's fastest growing national teams, based from our modern Perth offices and will suit a Social Performance expert with 12+ years of experience.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract; however, due to the growth trajectory of the team, there is a possibility for permanency after the contract period.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Social Performance team across APAC.
Provide specialist advice to clients on social impact assessment including SIA management plans.
The SIAs should have full consideration of social and communities' needs, priorities and perceptions, and meet all relevant Australian requirements as well as comply with relevant international standards where possible.
Mentor, train and impart knowledge on junior staff, both in Brisbane and across the national Social Performance team.
Manage, direct and complete projects to a high standard in terms of program, profitability, technical risk management and overall client satisfaction.
Liaise with local authorities and contractors as well as other leading consultants from other disciplines and collaborate with others on the national scene.
Adhere to professional standards, ethics and quality procedures.

Experience
12+ years of experience in Social Performance / Social Impact / Communications and Engagement roles.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, social sciences, or a related field.
Experience in Social Impact Assessment and ability to adhere to national and international standards.
Experience in the development of organisation and project sustainability strategies to achieve outcomes for our clients.
Interest in ESG frameworks, circular economy, climate change adaptation and resilience.
Proven ability to do strategic business development and a strong existing client network in the industry.
Positive, can-do attitude, and an ability to work with multiple disciplines and teams across a large dynamic business.
Experience in the consulting industry for at least a portion of your career so far.
