One of the largest players in their field, they have been a household name, serving customers for over 100 years.Your new roleThis company has implemented a number of financial transformation initiatives over the last 3 years to support wider business strategic initiatives. This, coupled with changing regulatory landscape and reporting deadlines, the Balance Sheet Reconciliation Lead becomes a key role. Key responsibilities include:Coordinate with business units, senior finance leaders, area leads, and other subject-matter experts to ensure all financial closures are completed on time with quality, across various functions including:Finance systems, Financial accounting, Management accounting, Business operations and ActuarialEnsuring balance sheet reconciliation is completed in line with standards outlined in balance sheet reconciliation guidelineDriving automation and simplification journey in relation to balance sheet reconciliation functionsIdentify and assess the deliverable risks and issues, and to support, develop and implement appropriate mitigation and resolution strategies.What you'll need to succeedQualified accountant - CA or CPAExperience in financial reporting cycle and financial accountingExperience in accountable for outcome of balance sheet reconciliationAudit experience preferred, but not essentialAustralian Life Insurance, banking and financial services industry experience essentialExperience in people management essentialExperience in managing outsourced providers are essential.Experience working with ERP, Finance platform implementations and operations is highly desirableWorked in small project teams delivering enterprise-wide projects with IT changesWhat you'll get in returnThis role is a 12-month fixed-term contract and embraces flexible working arrangements.
