Location ProfileDoveton College is a unique, diverse and vibrant learning community located in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, serving one of the most disadvantaged metropolitan regions in Australia.
In 2009, the Colman Foundation partnered with the Victorian Government to support the education of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, including high migrant and refugee groups.
Doveton College has become a model for community-based, inclusive education across multiple sites in Victoria, focusing on changing life opportunities through education and support services.
The College serves approximately 100 children in the Early Learning Centre, over 600 students from Foundation to Year 9, and offers various programs for parents and the community.
Each week, students participate in the Doveton Engagement and Enrichment Program (DEEP), which includes sports, performance, technology, and arts.

SC2: Experience in planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating their effectiveness.
SC3: Monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching practice.
SC4: Interpersonal skills and experience in maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
SC5: Behaviors consistent with Department values, reflecting on practice, and engaging in professional learning.
SC6: Understanding of trauma-informed practice and catering to students with diverse educational needs.
RoleThe classroom teacher focuses on planning, preparation, and teaching programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
They engage in critical reflection to improve their skills and effectively engage students.
Classroom teachers may be required to undertake additional duties appropriate to their salary range and experience.
ResponsibilitiesThe role includes, but is not limited to:
Direct teaching of groups and individual students.Contributing to curriculum development and evaluation.Participating in parent/teacher meetings and school activities.Undertaking organizational duties as determined by the School Principal.Who May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified in the specified curriculum areas.
