About your opportunity:
The purpose of this role is to assist in the provision of Rehabilitation Services in a Tertiary Mental Health Service.
The ideal candidate would also be able to assist in the delivery of care, while following through with ancillary tasks around management and implementation within the AAMHIU.
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
High level of interpersonal, communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
Understands and supports the vision, values and objectives of the MHSG and understands the relationship between organisational goals and operational tasks.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks.
High standard of written and oral communication skills within the MDT, patients and their families.
Ability to use or learn to use information systems appropriate to the position.
Ability to provide clinical education and support and demonstrate own ongoing professional development.
All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other areas of the Service.
About the Unit:
The Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit (AAMHIU), co-located on The Townsville Hospital campus, is a modern 36 bed facility designed for persons requiring acute assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders.
The unit has an eight bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and 28 beds Low Dependency Unit (LDU) in the open area of the unit.
The multidisciplinary team (MDT) comprises of administrative, nursing, medical, allied health and operational staff.

comprising: Salary range of $2548.10 to $2678.70 p.f.
(CA3) Annual leave with 17.5% loading 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Role Requirements:
Completion of Certificate IV in Mental Health Work (non-clinical), qualification can be obtained during employment.
Successful completion of Occupational Violence Prevention course (training will be provided).
Possession of class C drivers' licence.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
Probation period may apply.
