About the role Your position will be to provide high level legal advice to Banjo's Corporation, chiefly across the areas of franchising, commercial law, and employment law.
This role is the primary support to Banjo's General Counsel.
Key responsibilities include: General legal administration including the management of the Banjo's Lease and Franchisee database, and the management of the ASIC portal.Drafting organisational policies and procedures and maintaining the organisational controlled document register.Management of high-level complaints and investigations.Review of various agreements including, but not limited to retail/commercial leases, services agreements, franchise agreements, and supplier agreements.Compiling information and conducting investigations on behalf of the General Counsel.Providing legal advice to internal and external stakeholders.Undertaking various audits: wage, legal, and file.Perform a range of legal research tasks and support to General Counsel.Selection Criteria Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, including the ability to:prepare clear and concise documentation (for internal and external stakeholders);liaise with the General Counsel on complex matters;provide effective feedback to the General Counsel.Highly developed legal research skills.Experience in meeting internal and external stakeholder needs in a positive and proactive manner.A genuine interest in the law and the legal process, ideally as it relates to leases, property, or franchise law.Demonstrated skills in supporting organisational change and continuous improvement in the workplace.Ability to work independently and manage your own pipeline of work.Strong understanding of how to prioritise tasks to meet both internal and external deadlines.Bring your own energy to the role and desire to continue your professional development.Superior drafting skills and the ability to communicate complex legal issues both written & verbal.Expertise in producing documents to a professional standard.Experience in property law and franchising.How to apply - for further information or to apply for this position please send an email to and include your resume and cover letter addressing the selection criteria, please include contact details of two recent referees.
