We currently have a temporary vacancy for up to 5 years for a Temp Principal Advisor (Project Controls) to join the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail Project.
Working on this exciting project, you will be a part of a team that is delivering major improvements for customers and communities between Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast.The LGC project will unlock the current bottle neck on the Southeast Queensland rail network to enable more services to run more frequently and reliably between Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast and is a key infrastructure investment ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.With extensive track upgrades, 9 new train stations, 5 level crossing removals, park 'n' ride upgrades and new active travel pathways, this transformational project will deliver significant benefits to communities, customers and businesses along the 20km corridor.In the role of Temp Principal Advisor (Project Controls) you will work as part of the Program Controls team responsible for supporting the successful delivery of the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail suite of projects.
You will oversee three embedded Project Controls staff who will be reviewing, analysing and reporting on major contractor progress.
As the Principal Advisor, you will ensure the consistent application of project and program controls across the extensive program of works.Some Of Your Responsibilities Will IncludeLead and participate in the development and continual improvement of LGC Program and Project Control practices.
This includes the creation, implementation and management of cost control plans, schedule master plans, and risk register maintenance.Lead project budget management and cost control functions, encompassing budget creation, scheduling, change management, estimation, progress tracking, forecasting, and earned value management.Lead budget related government submissions as well as internal and external project gating and assurance processes.Possess a comprehensive grasp of project accounting and accrual collection methods.Understand and communicate project budgets, baselines, and report discrepancies ensuring timely end-of-month processes.Provide input to the Manager (Business Services) and LGC Project Directors regarding trend and critical path analysis, risk identification and project advancement monitoring.Work with Delivery team members to maintain oversight of project deliverables and monitor the tracking of physical completion percentages, including quantities installed.Establish and manage project expenses in alignment with TMR's Financial Management Practice Manual (FMPM) guidelines.Lead the prioritisation, management and delivery of set tasks and activities, with an emphasis on meeting deadlines within quality, cost and time constraints.Some Employment Benefits $130,407 - $139,830k superannuable salary 12.75% employer superannuation contributions salary packaging and novated lease options 20 days recreational leave per annum 10 days personal (sick) leave per annum reimbursements for various health and wellbeing activities Employee Assistance Program access to coaching/counselling for support in all aspects of life based in Brisbane CBD with remote work options available a 36-hour 15 min standard work week with ability to accrue flex timeAs the Temp Principal Advisor (Project Controls), you will be joining: a dynamic and diverse team that supports one another a program where you will collaborate with multiple professionals across various projects and expand your network a division that delivers significant benefits to communities, customers, and businesses an employer that values your talent, skills, and knowledge and supports continuous learning and developmentIf you have any questions about the role, you can contact Colm Carey on (07) 3066 3586Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/608971/24Closing Date: Monday, 13 January 2025Occupational group Project Management
