Position: Histopathology Scientists/Technicians
Location: Bowen Hills, QLD

Key ResponsibilitiesApplications are invited for the exciting opportunity to work in the Histopathology Department at Bowen Hills.
Applicants are being sought for a variety of shifts to work in both the main laboratory and dissection laboratory.
The aim of these varied roles is in the preparation of tissue prior to the microscopic examination by histopathologists.
Duties will include surgical dissection of simple and non-complex specimens or the embedding, microtomy and general laboratory procedures involved in the preparation of histological slides.
Core duties:
Dissection: cut up and prepare non-complex specimensMain laboratory: embed and perform microtomy of specimensImmunohistochemistry: prepare slides for staining on automated stainers, QC slides, perform special stainsWhat we are looking forA degree in Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or other relevant qualification is a must.
Prior histology laboratory experience will be highly regarded.
The ideal candidates will have well developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as an effective team member.
You should also have excellent organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and work accurately and efficiently.
The laboratory operates 24 hours and is therefore seeking flexible and enthusiastic individuals.
