Managing Principal
At HDR, our employee-owners are fully engaged in creating a welcoming environment where each of us is valued and respected, a place where everyone is empowered to bring their authentic selves and novel ideas to work every day.
As we work to weave diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and foster a sense of belonging throughout the company and within our communities, we constantly ask ourselves: What is our impact on the world?

Due to an internal move, HDR is excited to offer an opportunity for a Managing Principal to lead our Australian Architecture Business Group, overseeing both our Sydney and Melbourne studios.

We are seeking a dynamic leader to drive the continued growth and evolution of our practice, continuing to strengthen our commitment to exceptional design, transformative client relationships, regenerative design, and sustainable growth in the region.

As Managing Principal, you will be responsible for the development and execution of both strategic and operational plans for Australian architecture practice.
This will include managing annual budgets, monitoring performance, and ensuring resources are efficiently allocated to meet business objectives.
Additionally, your leadership will be key in championing new business opportunities across sectors and business groups, working closely with the Australian Leadership Team to identify and pursue these opportunities.

We will count on you to:

Provide direct line management and leadership to senior staff, fostering a high-performance culture, and supporting the development and growth of the team.
Proactively manage project and business risks, ensuring that potential challenges are identified and addressed.
Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, quality, and profitability.
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, advocating for an inclusive working environment and fostering a culture of belonging within the practice.
Serve as the nominated architect for the states in which we operate in Australia.
