You will manage a team of recreational activity officers responsible for promoting emotional and physical rehabilitation through person-first recreational activities that promote holistic wellbeing, including providing residents with quality care and actively supporting them to maintain their skill level, independence, and mobility, and providing respite support to their family/carers.
In addition to overseeing the Person-First Leisure and Lifestyle Program and the team of recreational activity officers, you will be required to perform the role of the Recreational Activity Officer, alongside the Activity Officers within the care home.
Duties Manage all Recreational Activities Officers with excellent team leadershipProvide residents with quality care and actively support them to maintain their skill levels, independence, and mobility while providing respite support to their family/carersWork collaboratively with other team members to effectively plan and organize all recreational activity programsEnsure individual residents' needs, values, spiritual, and cultural preferences are taken into account when providing recreational careComplete documented assessments which determine and clearly state capabilities, needs, and problemsComply with infection control and work health and safety standardsSkills and Experience Cert IV in Leisure and Lifestyle is desirable, degree-level qualifications highly regardedPrevious experience gained in a similar roleSenior First Aid Certificate is essentialPrevious experience in caring for the elderly within an aged or community care settingHighly developed organization and time management skillsThe ability to solve problems independentlyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAn understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards, and OutcomesCulture We all share the same purpose at Bupa Aged Care.
