About the Role : As the Director of Engineering, you will lead and inspire the engineering teams, shaping our technology vision and driving innovation.
You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that the platform is not only stable and high-performing but also adaptable to the evolving needs of the business and customers.
Working closely with other Directors of Engineering, Directors of Product, and the Director of Design, you'll ensure alignment between the technology and business strategies.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership : Manage and inspire a team of engineering managers and individual contributors, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture.
Attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent, while mentoring the team on best practices and company values.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate with Directors of Product, Design, and other Engineering Directors to ensure a cohesive strategy and seamless execution.
Facilitate communication and alignment across departments, ensuring efficient delivery of projects.
Technology Stack: Oversee and optimize our full-stack JavaScript environment, including Node.js, React, and other modern frameworks.
Ensure our JavaScript-based systems are scalable, maintainable, and capable of supporting both front-end and back-end requirements.
Platform Stability and Performance : Ensure the stability, performance, and scalability of our platform, with a focus on website speed and mobile app responsiveness.
Champion best practices for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Engineering Velocity and Efficiency : Optimize engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to drive velocity and efficiency.
Monitor and refine engineering workflows to maximize productivity and deliver high-quality results.
Quality of Deliverables : Maintain high standards for code quality, system reliability, and overall performance.
Implement robust testing and quality assurance practices to ensure deliverables exceed customer expectations.
Trusted Advisor : Serve as a trusted advisor to the CPTO and the executive team, providing insights and recommendations on engineering matters.
Support strategic decision-making and long-term planning with a focus on innovation and scalability.
