Overview
Our client is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Building Surveyor to fulfil a temporary part-time position for up to 6 months (2-3 days per week, 14-21 hours).

Primary Purpose of the Position
The position will involve working within a small team of Building Surveyors to undertake building inspections in line with Council's policies and legislative frameworks relating to Building Surveying, Building Certification, and Planning matters.

Key accountabilities / responsibilities :
Assess and determine or certify the extent to which application documents comply with technical building requirements.
Issue approvals, consents, or building permits as applicable under relevant State and Territory Laws.
Inspect building work to audit compliance with relevant laws.
Inspect health and safety aspects of existing buildings to verify ongoing compliance with approval or occupation requirements.
Where authorized by State or Territory laws, take appropriate compliance and enforcement actions to ensure building work complies with regulatory requirements.
Essential Criteria :
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health and Building, Building Surveying, or a related field.
Accreditation with NSW Fair Trading at a registration level of Building Surveying restricted (class 1 and 10 buildings).
Class C Driver's licence.
Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.

National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014.
