As a Structural Steel Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing cost estimates for structural steel fabrication projects.
This position is ideal for trade-qualified candidates looking to transition into an estimation role or for experienced estimators ready to take on a new challenge.
Collaborating with senior estimators, project managers, and the Sales Manager, you'll contribute to projects ranging from commercial builds and government contracts to large-scale infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing :
Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for structural steel projects, including materials, labour, and project requirements Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather and validate pricing information Contribute to tender submissions and ensure that estimates are competitive and comprehensive Work closely with the project delivery team to ensure smooth handovers and exceptional client satisfaction Review and interpret project plans, structural drawings, and technical specifications to determine scope and requirements Maintain and update records of estimates, budgets, and project cost histories Monitor and track project costs during execution, ensuring adherence to budgets Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements throughout the estimation process What We're Looking For
Proven experience in heavy steel fabrication estimating Strong knowledge of steel design, fabrication processes, and industry standards Ability to interpret engineering, architectural drawings, and CAD models with precision Qualifications such as : Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or similar
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering Project Management experience in heavy fabrication Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and changing schedules Why Our Client?
