Their technology department plays a vital role in maintaining and improving their operations.Job DescriptionThe IT Infrastructure Project Manager will manage and guide complex, high-priority IT infrastructure projects.
This position demands an experienced professional with broad expertise in all aspects of IT infrastructure, along with a thorough understanding of the distinct challenges and needs of technology within law enforcement environments.Project Management: Oversee the project to ensure it is managed and delivered to a high professional standard, in alignment with both internal and external policies, standards, and procedures.Leadership and Negotiation: Provide leadership to both the team and senior management, negotiating solutions and resolving issues across various divisions, organisational boundaries, and with both internal and external stakeholders.Team Development: Lead, motivate, and develop the Project Delivery team, utilising both day-to-day management and formal performance processes to support the achievement of business objectives.Customer Satisfaction: Actively manage customer needs, expectations, and satisfaction, ensuring compliance with client requirements and quality assurance standards.Delivery Framework: Ensure the project adopts and is endorsed with the appropriate delivery framework/methodology.Product Delivery: Drive the delivery and implementation of project products, ensuring the creation of all necessary documentation for product delivery and acceptance throughout the project life cycle and post-delivery support, meeting project objectives and customer acceptance criteria.Vendor Management: Oversee external vendors in accordance with signed contracts, including assisting in the RFT process, conducting analysis, tracking the project, managing relationships, monitoring deliverables, and providing reports.Change Management: Manage all change management activities within the project, including coordinating training initiatives.Additional Tasks: Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Program Manager.The Successful ApplicantProject Management Expertise: At least 7 years of continuous experience as a Project Manager, with a proven track record of successfully delivering a portfolio of at least 3 large-scale projects for complex organisations, utilising contemporary project management methodologies.Technical Oversight: Experience in managing IT infrastructure projects involving Hybrid Cloud Compute, Storage, Network, Security, Identity, OS refresh, Databases, and Unified Communications.Vendor Management: Demonstrated experience in managing external vendors, including defining scope of work, overseeing architecture and design, and ensuring successful delivery.Team Leadership: Extensive experience leading and motivating a diverse internal team (Architects, Engineers, Testers, Business Analysts), ensuring strong collaboration and high performance in demanding environments.Adaptability and Agility: Ability to manage large volumes of requirements in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adjust to changing project needs and diverse challenges.Certification: Certification in project management best practices (preferably Practitioner PRINCE2, PMP).Reporting and Forecasting: Extensive experience managing project finances, schedules, and detailed status reporting, including SteerCo updates, using Enterprise Project Management tools.Change Management: Strong background in ITIL change management and service transition, ensuring smooth adoption of new systems and processes.
