Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the north-east of Melbourne and state-wide.
We have a highly engaged, diverse and collaborative workforce that is unified by our goal to help people live healthy and fulfilled lives Gr2 Clinical Neuropsychologist, fixed term parental leave cover 0.6FTE - 3 days per week (22.8 hours) Located at Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre, Kew About Mary Guthrie House A unique, state-wide multi-component Neuropsychiatry Unit providing individualised, slow stream recovery support to adults with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or neurodegenerative condition, and associated mental illness, including responsive behaviours.
The unit has a neuropsychiatric rehabilitation focus, working collaboratively with consumers to improve and maintain functional independence and to live their best life, as they define it.
About the role We are searching for a Clinical Neuropsychologist (Grade 2) to work within our specialist Neuropsychiatry Unit, as part of a supportive, collaborative multi-disciplinary team.
A regular day will see you: Work collaboratively with consumers, families, carers and key stakeholders? Contribute neuropsychology expertise within the multi-disciplinary team? Undertake comprehensive neurobehavioral assessments Develop and implement detailed positive behaviour support plans in close collaboration with the team? Providing professional advice and consultation to other professions, care providers, community agencies and other relevant stakeholders.
About you Ideally, you'll bring with you: Demonstrated clinical experience in supporting consumers with acquired brain injury and/or mental health conditions Knowledge and experience in consumer centred care; supported decision making; and the recovery model Understanding and experience in positive behaviour support techniques and interventions Proven ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team and as an independent clinician Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice and ability to translate this into practice Our benefits Working at Austin Health means enjoying a strong sense of purpose, engaging in meaningful work every day.
