We are currently working with a retail display design company who have a focus on elevating customers brands through beautifully crafted and innovative POS displays.
About The Business We are working with one of Australia's leading providers of integrated marketing working across a wide range of solutions including print, display, personalised communications, promotional products, warehousing and logistics services.
They have operations in both Sydney and Melbourne and this division of the business specialises in the creation and production of temporary, semi-permanent and permanent retail displays.
From counter stands to complex retail fit outs, they work collaboratively with their customers to fully understand their desired objective, then designs, tests, produces, delivers and installs in-store.
Their retail and point of sale solutions give customers access to the complete range of product display and store promotion materials.
Australia's leading retailers use them because they know how to turn shoppers into buyers and their passion and focus in technology, innovation and efficiency, coupled with a highly experienced and passionate team of people help create a nimble and flexible business focused on delivering a responsive service to their customers.
Their services also include off-shore sourcing where appropriate through a dedicated team based in Asia.
About The Position I am seeking an Industrial Designer with experience in all facets (temp, semi-permanent & permanent) of point of sale displays to join their creative team within the Brand Activations division.
This position will be involved in projects from concept to launch for some of the world's leading brands in FMCG, consumer electronics and communications and is an excellent opportunity for a technically proficient Industrial Designer to work in a creative environment that delivers front-line marketing solutions into multiple retail channels.
Responsibilities Conceptual development of retail displays with the use of hand sketching and 3 D renderings.
Developing concept presentations with the use of Solid Works and Adobe software to an exceptional standard for presentation to clients.
Detailing concepts for quotation and prototype development.
Manage the development of prototypes made from various materials and manufacturing methods prior to finalising details for production.
Developing detailed design drawings for manufacture using Solid Works.
Assist in the management of projects from creative brief stage through to delivery and installation.
Liaise with local and offshore manufacturers on technical detailing and quality control.
Work in collaboration with Accounts team, Clients, Project Managers and Suppliers to achieve key milestones for creative projects.
Manage the design expectations of the Client and Account Management team.
Design within the project's budget and timeline with consideration to local and offshore manufacturing.
Skills & Experience 3+ years experience within the POS design industry.
Technically proficient Industrial Designer with both creative and technical skillsets.
Understand design principles for manufacturing and assembly across various temporary and permanent display construction materials.
Knowledge and experience in interpreting and creating manufacturing drawings suitable for local and offshore manufacturing.
Skill in design placement, aesthetics and functionality are essential.
A strong understanding of design and manufacture processes, materials and finishes.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Products.
Strong proficiency and experience in Solid Works a necessity.
Experience with other software packages like 3 DS MAX, Maya, Archi Cad, Rhino, Artios CAD or similar is desirable but not necessary.
Degree in Industrial Design required.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
