Principal Heritage & Community Relations Genesis Minerals Limited (ASX: GMD) is a new and growing ASX-listed gold house, 100% focused on the prolific Leonora District in Western Australia.

A rewarding opportunity exists for a Principal Heritage & Community Relations professional to join Genesis Minerals Limited.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity, primarily based in our Perth corporate Office, with site visits as required.

Reporting to the Manager Land & External Relations, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the strategies that foster positive relationships between the Company and the communities in which we operate.
This role is critical in ensuring that the Company's operations are socially responsible and culturally sensitive, particularly in relation to Aboriginal and community engagement and interests.

The opportunity:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with government bodies, NGOs, Traditional Owners, Heritage Consultants, and other external stakeholders related to community and heritage matters, facilitating effective collaboration and communication.
Ensure compliance with all relevant heritage legislation, including the protection and management of Aboriginal cultural heritage sites.
Develop and manage cultural heritage management plans in consultation with Traditional Owners, Heritage Consultants, and Government agencies.
Facilitate cultural heritage surveys and assessments with the appropriate Traditional Owners and Knowledge Holders, ensuring that any findings are appropriately managed and documented.
Design and submit Heritage approvals in a timely manner and in accordance with business requirements and State and Commonwealth legislation.
Provide guidance and training to site teams on heritage management practices and the importance of cultural sensitivity.
Provide internal updates on key approvals and legislative requirements/change.
Develop and implement engagement strategies and frameworks to build and maintain positive relationships with local communities, including Aboriginal groups.
Facilitate and lead the Company's engagement with community stakeholders and Aboriginal groups.
Identify community concerns and work collaboratively to address them in a timely and respectful manner.
Manage complaints and disputes efficiently, addressing escalated issues promptly and appropriately.
Develop and manage the framework for the Company's community investment programs, including donations, sponsorships, and social projects that align with the Company's values and community needs.
Assess value and impact of the Company's community investment programs and monitor for effectiveness.
Implement and administer all native title mining and heritage agreements, including management of all related obligations, relationships and activities.
Manage and support delivery of outcomes pertaining to the Company's Indigenous Engagement Plan including initiatives for training, employment, contracting, community programs, and cultural awareness training and learning.
Identify, assess, and manage risks related to community relations and heritage management, including potential impacts on the Company's operations and reputation.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address identified risks, ensuring that they are effectively monitored and controlled.
Ensure governance frameworks are in place for community and heritage initiatives, including policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms.
Provide leadership within the Department and assist Manager Land & External Relations in achieving key objectives for the Company.

About You:
Formal qualification in a relevant field is preferred.
Proven track record of extensive practical experience (typically 7-10 years) in native title and cultural heritage management.
Strong knowledge of Australian heritage legislation and risk management principles.
Experience in community engagement is desirable, however, is not a pre-requisite.
Knowledge of community engagement best practices is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and negotiate outcomes that balance Company objectives with community and heritage considerations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Cultural sensitivity and a deep understanding of Aboriginal cultures and heritage.
High level of integrity, with a strong commitment to ethical practices, risk management, and governance.
Analytical skills to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Valid C Class Drivers Licence.
