Job Description: Senior Neuropsychologist (Grade 3) – Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health (FYMHS) Orygen Specialist Program Royal Melbourne Hospital Full time, 2 years Fixed Term | Monthly ADO and Salary Packing Based in Parkville with some travel to Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct Excellent team culture, training, supervision and professional development opportunities.
Exciting opportunity to support young people in custody with complex neuropsychological needs and work with the forensic youth mental health sector.
Your new team: Forming part of the Orygen Specialist Program (OSP), the Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service (FYMHS) team provides specialist youth mental health care in custodial settings to young people and their families/carers.
The Neuropsychologist will form part of the specialist Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD) team within Custodial FYMHS comprising Neuropsychology, Speech Pathology, and Occupational Therapy.
Your new role: The Neuropsychologist will provide assistance and support to young people in custody who present with complex neuropsychological needs:
Provide timely neuropsychology assessment and expert opinion regarding diagnostic formulation and treatment recommendations.
Consult and liaise with the young person's care team and other key stakeholders in the community.
Work in collaboration with the Custodial FYMHS multidisciplinary teams to develop excellence in clinical service delivery.
Provide teaching, second opinion, and secondary consultation to assist in the care and clinical case management of a young person.
About You: Completion of an accredited Master or Doctoral program in Clinical Neuropsychology, recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia.
Hold general registration AND an Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology.
Approved supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
Minimum 5 years experience in the application of Clinical Neuropsychology.
Demonstrate experience in youth mental health.
Knowledge of the youth justice and/or criminal justice system is desirable.
