About the role Brisbane Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team on a casual basis. In this fast paced and varied environment you will take pride in your work, have a friendly and positive work attitude and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
About us Set at the top of Wickham Terrace, Brisbane's busiest medical precinct, above the Roma Street Parklands in the heart of the CBD, Brisbane Private Hospital is an acute and rehabilitation hospital with 181 beds, 17 operating theatres and dedicated surgical, ICU and rehabilitation wards. Brisbane Private Hospital specialises in Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Spinal, ENT, Pain and Rehabilitation with additional specialties including Plastics, Urology, General Surgery, Gynaecology and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Brisbane Private Hospital also delivers a leading private drug and alcohol program, Damascus Health Services, from its dedicated drug and alcohol rehabilitation unit.
As an Occupational Therapist your responsibilities will include:
You will plan, assess, implement and evaluate clinical care in collaboration with patients/families and the multidisciplinary team so as to achieve identified goals and health outcomes. The Occupational Therapist will contribute to the coordination of clinical care whilst working in partnership with the allied health team, therapy assistants, nursing and non-clinical staff providing direct and indirect clinical input, direction and guidance.Incorporate the provision of education and support to patients and their carer/family for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation, discharge plans or end of life needs.Commit to an ongoing learning and professional development portfolio to ensure case mix requirements are supported and registration requirements are met.Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.Minimum 1 year experience.Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.Skills, knowledge and clinical reasoning in occupational therapy with experience and demonstrated competency in geriatrics, general medical, post general surgical and neurological.Excellent time management, communication and organisation skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills.Why Healthscope?
